Writing on how the poker networks came to regulate seating scripts, plus the software's own documentation." --- # PokerStars finally bans all seating scripts. Policy PokerStars had already restricted third-party tools once this year. In April it went further and prohibited any tool that helps a player choose a seat. Last updated on April 15th, 2019 Earlier this year PokerStars decided to change their policies with regards to seating scripts. Unfortunately, the restrictions they put into place did not have a positive effect on ring games – if anything they made things worse. Now, a bit unexpected, PokerStars decided to prohibit the use of any tool that aids the player with his table-selection. > “We are also going to be adjusting our Third Party Tool Policy to be significantly more restrictive on the use of seating scripts. All ring game seating scripts will be prohibited” > > PokerStars, in an email announcing the change [Read the full article: PokerStars finally bans all seating scripts. ›](https://need-4-seat.com/blog/pokerstars-finally-bans-all-seating-scripts/) ## More from the archive Networks ## [How poker networks are regulating seating scripts.](https://need-4-seat.com/blog/how-poker-networks-are-regulating-seating-scripts/) Last updated on April 12th, 2019 One of the questions that I am most frequently asked is, if it is allowed to use a seating script on a particular poker client and which measures the poker sites are taking to prevent players from using auto-seating scripts. I have decided to write a short article on the topic, with details for every poker site. In a 40-page document which they sent me via email, they have outlined the upcoming changes that will effect some utility tools, HUDs and of course seating scripts. In this article, I'll give a brief overview on the changes with regards to seat scripting and automated table-selection. In 2019 the situation looks a bit different. Almost every player from NL50 upwards is using an auto-seating script and of course there's no seat for everyone at the table. It watches the ring-game tables you have open, and when a recreational player sits down it reserves the seat beside them before you have looked up from the hand you are playing. The writing here records how the poker networks themselves came to treat that kind of software. ## Field notes [01**How Sportsbook Bonus Terms Work for Beginners**Sep 14, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/how-sportsbook-bonus-terms-work-a-beginner-s-guide/) [02**The 10 Best Sweepstakes Casinos for New Player Offers**Aug 23, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/the-10-best-sweepstakes-casinos-for-new-player-offers/) [03**Why Is SweepsPulse the Best for Real Cash Redemption?**Aug 22, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/why-is-sweepspulse-the-best-for-real-cash-redemption/) [04**SweepsPulse for No Deposit Bonus: Why It's the Best Choice**Aug 21, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/sweepspulse-for-no-deposit-bonus-why-it-s-the-best-choice/) [05**Best iGaming Platforms for Custom Builds in 2026**Aug 17, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/best-igaming-platforms-for-custom-builds-in-2026/) [06**Why Is Kanggiten the Best for Turnkey Packages?**Aug 16, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/why-is-kanggiten-the-best-for-turnkey-packages/) [07**Top 7 Sweepstakes Casinos for Free Play**Aug 16, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/top-7-sweepstakes-casinos-for-free-play/) [08**Top 6 Alternatives of stakester.com**Aug 12, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/top-6-alternatives-of-stakester-com/) [09**SweepsPulse for Instant Withdrawals: Why It's the Best Choice**Aug 10, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/sweepspulse-for-instant-withdrawals-why-it-s-the-best-choice/) [10**Top 7 Alternatives of TIGCasino**Aug 10, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/top-7-alternatives-of-tigcasino/) More [11**SweepstakesTable for Free Sweeps Coins: Why It's the Best Choice**Aug 07, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/sweepstakestable-for-free-sweeps-coins-why-it-s-the-best-choice/) [12**How Small Businesses Should Evaluate WhatsApp Business API Platforms for Guided Setup**Aug 05, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/how-small-businesses-should-evaluate-whatsapp-business-api-platforms-for-guided-setup/) [13**Best Sweepstakes Casinos for Purchase Bonuses (2026)**Aug 04, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/best-sweepstakes-casinos-for-purchase-bonuses-2026/) [14**Top 7 Alternatives of Gamingtec**Jul 23, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/top-7-alternatives-of-gamingtec/) [15**Who's the Best for End-To-End Gaming Technology: Playtech vs Kanggiten**Jul 22, 2026](https://need-4-seat.com/who-s-the-best-for-end-to-end-gaming-technology-playtech-vs-kanggiten/) ## Clients supported - **iPoker**Widely used, no statement prohibiting seating scripts. - **MicroGaming (Prima)**Game Integrity Policy does not mention seating scripts. - **WinningPoker**Terms do not prohibit seating software. - **ChicoPoker**Warnings issued from March 2019; manual seating advised. - **Winamax**Officially forbidden in the terms, no enforcement observed. - **PartyPoker**Prohibited since 2016; seating by player count only. ## Support withdrawn - **PokerStars & FullTilt**All ring-game seating scripts banned, April 2019. - **Pacific Poker (888)**Seating aids prohibited and enforced; support ended October 2018. ## Resources - [How it works](https://need-4-seat.com/main/howitworks/) - [TableScanTurbo setup guide](https://need-4-seat.com/main/tst/) - [Frequently asked questions](https://need-4-seat.com/main/faq/) - [Licensing](https://need-4-seat.com/main/buy/) - [Releases and changelog](https://need-4-seat.com/main/download/) - [Terms and conditions](https://need-4-seat.com/main/toc/) - [End-User Agreement](https://need-4-seat.com/eula/) - [Privacy Policy](https://need-4-seat.com/privacy/) ## The archive, by month ### April 2019 - [PokerStars finally bans all seating scripts.](https://need-4-seat.com/blog/pokerstars-finally-bans-all-seating-scripts/) - [How poker networks are regulating seating scripts.](https://need-4-seat.com/blog/how-poker-networks-are-regulating-seating-scripts/) ### January 2019 - [Pokerstars restricts the use of seating scripts and other third party tools.](https://need-4-seat.com/blog/pokerstars-restricts-the-use-of-seating-scripts-and-other-third-party-tools/) - [How you can improve the speed of your seating script.](https://need-4-seat.com/blog/how-you-can-improve-the-speed-of-your-seating-script/) [Browse the complete Writing archive ›](https://need-4-seat.com/blog/)
