Installing a release
Download the latest version or choose one of the earlier releases. Extract the archive to a destination on your hard drive, then start Need4Seat.exe or Need4Seat Updater.exe. The five day trial period is activated automatically once the software is started for the first time, and no registration is required for it.
The software looks for a new version on startup and installs it if one is available, so a release is normally only fetched by hand once.
A note on virus scanners
Because the software requires administrator privileges and interacts with the poker applications running on the computer, it is known to trigger some virus scanners. Every release was uploaded to a public multi-engine scanning service so that its detailed analysis could be reviewed before the installer was executed.

- The Tell-A-Friend system has been reworked: you will now earn ten per cent on every order your friends place.
- Adjusted the changelog to work properly with the new website.
- The Scan Tables button will now also be highlighted when it's activated, like the Search Tables button.
- Americas Cardroom and Blackchip Poker are now being recognized properly.
- Fixed the PokerStars nova and blacktop layouts.

- iPoker table grabbing fixed.
- After tables have been opened, they will now be grabbed exactly after the New Table Scan Interval has passed. It has been limited to a minimum of one second, however.
- PokerStars waitlists should now be handled more properly.
- The waitlist log message will now be displayed in purple.
Later releases dropped support for the networks that prohibited seating software: 888 in October 2018, and PokerStars together with FullTilt in April 2019.
